Campaign of the Month: December 2020
House Jasper
Hoster Woodhull
The Knight of Woodhull
Description:
An angry old man, Hoster makes no effort to hide his rage and most often wears a snarl, only rarely softening to a grimace. His greasy hair, beard, and skin have all gone to grey. His piercing blue eyes are his only feature of color.
Bio:
In April 284 Ser James asked his grandfather and their steward to follow him outside. An envoy of House Jasper, on behalf of House Elesham, had arrived. A discussion followed in which the former captive, an old knight, a maester, and a younger knight convinced House Woodhull to meet with House Elesham. Hoster did describe a generations long rivalry and feud between the two houses. Hoster expressed that they would begrudgingly meet on neutral ground at midday following the next full moon.
He was present in the Tower of the Hand when Jon Arryn appointed House Jasper as Marshall of the FIngers and the Isles on the day Robert Baratheon wed Cersei Lannister. He was angry as ever during the proceedings.
House Jasper hosted a tournament in June of 285 AC to celebrate its new title, which Hoster attended with several members of his house. He became infuriated when registering for the joust when the clerk, mistakenly, assumed he must be registering for a younger man. Only the diplomacy of Teddy Jasper calmed him. Hoster, perhaps fueled by his indignation, went on to have a strong performance in the joust. He bested Ser Lyn Corbray in the semi-finals. Hoster was killed by Ser Cortnay in the champion’s tilt when a tournament lance (that had altered to conceal a steel core) pierced his visor.
